Only have 3 days in Marrakech? Don’t worry. You can see many of the city’s highlights without spending your entire trip rushing from one place to another.

The best approach is simple: spend two days exploring Marrakech and keep the third day for a different experience outside the city.

Day 1: Discover the Medina

Start your 3 days in Marrakech with the historic Medina.

Walk through the souks, discover local crafts and make your way towards Jemaa el-Fna. You can also visit important sights such as the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace or Ben Youssef Madrasa.

In the evening, return to Jemaa el-Fna. The square becomes much livelier later in the day, making it a great place to experience Marrakech’s atmosphere.

Tip: Don’t try to visit every monument in one morning. Leave some time to simply walk and explore.

Day 2: Gardens, Palaces and Relaxation

On your second day, slow things down a little.

Visit Jardin Majorelle and explore one or two of Marrakech’s beautiful palaces. The official tourism guide also recommends the Majorelle Garden as one of the city’s essential places to discover.

Later, enjoy a Moroccan lunch, relax at your riad or take some time for a traditional hammam.

In the evening, find a rooftop with a view over the Medina and enjoy dinner while the city lights begin to appear.

Day 3: Get Out of Marrakech

For the third day of your 3 days in Marrakech, consider leaving the city for a few hours.

The Agafay Desert is one option. Located around 40 km from Marrakech, it offers rocky desert landscapes, Atlas views and activities such as camel rides.

You could also choose the Atlas Mountains or another destination around Marrakech. The Marrakech tourism board highlights the region’s combination of mountains, desert and coastal destinations.

If you prefer to stay in the city, simply use day three to explore places you missed, shop in the souks and enjoy Marrakech at a slower pace.

Is 3 Days Enough for Marrakech?

Yes. 3 days in Marrakech is enough for a first visit if you don’t try to do everything.

You’ll have time for the Medina, gardens, Moroccan food, local culture and even a short escape outside the city.

The secret is not filling every hour of your itinerary. Leave some space to enjoy the city.
